Jordan Pond Trail

Walking up to where the Jordan Pond Trail begins, you're greeted with an oddly familiar scene. The mountainous view before you, including the iconic North and South Bubbles, is Acadia National Park's most famous view. Pictures of this spot can be found around the park, as well as in many guides and books.

Jordan Pond is relatively still now, with only a very slight breeze occasionally sending small ripples across the water's surface. The pond is the largest in Acadia, boasting a maximum depth of 15o feet. To wind around the whole shore, you'll walk a total of 3.4 miles in a loop. The trail around Jordan Pond is flat and easy, with the exception of sections where you'll walk over wooden planks through slightly marshy terrain.
