White Rim Overlook Trail
The White Rim Overlook Trail is hardly marked. Unless you know where it is, it's easy to pass by the small pull-off that abuts a large, smooth expanse of sandstone. There are only two parking spaces, all but guaranteeing you solitude on your hike.
The walk is just shy of two miles round trip. A rickety signpost beyond the open sandstone points you in the right direction. The path is flat, made of dry, red dirt. It's hardly defined, visible only because of the lack of scraggly shrubbery.
You squint a bit as you read the sign. The sun is very bright; it's around a hundred degrees outside in the Utah summer.
You start down the quiet path to your right.
